Q: What is required to book my wedding?
A: I think one of the most important investments, when you're planning a wedding, is your photographer (and the cake!), and a great relationship with whoever you choose to capture your special day will lend to fantastic photographs to treasure for years to come. So... first I want to meet you and the guy who's gonna love you forever :)! I want to make sure we mesh well, and to let you know about the great wedding packages and album choices I have available.
I do realize there might be times where, due to schedule conflicts or distance, that we can't meet, but we should definitely chat on the phone or via email to make sure we're on the same page.
And yes, if I feel that there's a photographer that might be better suited for the vision you have, I will happily refer you to them. In the end, I want people to be excited about their wedding photos, whether you book me or not!
Now, the onto the nitty gritty. You've decided that I'm supercool, and you've chosen me as your wedding photographer. Yay!
The first step is to let me know you've chosen me so that I can send you a contract ASAP. I require a 25% deposit to reserve the date, and the remaining balance no later than six weeks before the wedding date. Once I receive your deposit and signed contract, the date is officially yours!
Q: Do you shoot digital or film?
A: I shoot all weddings and engagements with top of the line Canon digital cameras and lenses to ensure that your final product will be clear, sharp, and an accurate snapshot of your special day.
Q: What is lifestyle photojournalism?
A: I consider myself a lifestyle photojournalist. I like to capture real moments as they happen. Though there will be times when I will be engaged in making sure I deliver the best images to you (i.e. posed formal portraits for your parents and other family members), my goal is to remain as unobtrusive as possible. I love the power of natural light and I am skilled in making sure that it reflects the mood of the moment. I do, however, use flash and lighting equipment should a need arise for it.
Q: Do you shoot other stuff besides weddings and engagements?
A: Bring it! I love shooting portraits, special events, pregnant bellies, babies, kids, pets. You name it, I'll consider it. Go to
